Last night saw an amazing concert at the Drill Hall in Ware. Stunning and with performances at a quality few thought possible. Parents were in awe at how we manage to produce an ever improving standard, time after time. One said that some schools have a couple of good items in a concert, but never an entire concert of outstanding music. She is right. Everything was outstanding. Thanks to Debbie, Clare, Sue, Paul, Richard and Jeremy for the organisation, and Cynthia and Terry for helping.
This week we have a 3:2 split starting on Monday. The AS Music Tech exam is on Monday morning, and GCSE on Tuesday morning. Interviews for the curriculum post are also on Tuesday. If you are in, do come to the buffet lunch at 12.20pm.
All the GCSE and A level coursework has now gone, and it has once again been a huge task. With the new GCSE syllabus as well, we have had to tread with caution. Danny, Dave, Neil and Will have put in hours to chase up students and support them. I now have the last few hours of the GCSE listening. Thanks also to everyone who has worked with the students, provided performances or helped in any way.
As Year 11 and 12 are into exams, please ensure you plan ahead and look at the exam timetable on the wall in the kitchen. Never assume! Year 13 are here until half term. Messages can be sent, so please keep communicating with them. Instrumental exams are just about sorted, so keep applying the pressure and reminders for those taking the exams. Where practice is not being done, let Sue know and she will chase via email.
We are looking at Friday 2nd September for the inset at the start of the new academic year. We do need everyone there, so please check your diaries.
Two weeks, including this, until half term. Wow!
Thanks for all your continued hard work.
