Music News for Monday 22nd April

Hello everyone and welcome back. Busy times already.

The concert at the end of last term was a total triumph, and when I have some pictures I will rave more about it. Needless to say, we have had many emails and letters about the quality. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved.

Lessons have started again quickly this term. Thanks again for the timetables and time spent preparing.

Child protection training. Please everyone pass Sue a copy of your most recent training certificate - this week. If it is out of date, or nearly, it will require renewing. This is most important and something that cannot be overlooked I am afraid. Sorry to be a nag, but we cannot be caught out here!!

Instrumental exams. Here is the info:

ROCKSCHOOL – Exam Date 20^th June. Entries close 10^th May

TRINITY – Exam Date 4^th July. Entries close 10^th May

TRINITY PERC/ROCK AND POP – Exam Date 8^th July. Entries close 10^th May

ASSOCIATED BOARD – Exam Date 15^th July. Entries close 24^th May

TIMETABLING ISSUES

Year 7s are away all week 13^th – 17^th May in Osmington Bay. Natalie is also going. No Year 7 lessons this week please - official school trip.

3-2 SPLIT OPERATES FROM 13TH MAY TO 24^TH JUNE. Most people are now able to adjust their timetable accordingly. Ask if you need guidance, but the aim is that you can easily do this!

ENSEMBLE REGISTERS

Please ensure these are filled in each week. This is vital for our record-keeping and to ensure the right students are contacted re concerts, recitals etc.

Years 11, 12 and 13 are all here for the next few weeks. Exams, especially practical, are now starting. It is up to the student to inform you of any disruption they will have. Please do prompt them with the question 'Is everything OK for next week' or something like that, so they think and do not leave it until the actual day!

Year 11 GCSE - if you have had students recorded and have not given me a copy of the music, could you pass to me this week. It is really urgent now!

There will be some inset this term. Dates to follow. I will try to aim for a quiet week (if such a thing exists!).
