The end of term is nigh. However, it is not over yet!
Last week we had some fantastic Rock School exam results. Many of them as well. A great team effort preparing the students and thanks to Alex for organising everything. Trinity Guildhall again on Friday. Again, some amazing results, adding to the excellent results so far this term. Thanks to Clare here. AB on Monday - good luck to all. I should take this opportunity to thank Barbara for all her hard work accompanying so many students.
Inset is on Friday 2nd September, starting at 9.30am and ending at 3pm. 100% attendance please! Ensemble leaders, please come with details of music for the year for your ensembles. We will be looking at planning, Simon Balle students, exam preparation, will have team meetings and more. We are also going to have a hugh push on everyone being at a certain level of ability regarding technology. If you struggle to use Audacity, or google docs, or computers generally, please brush up over the summer. There will be no where to hide I am afraid!
Please can everyone complete the following question regarding planning sheets and click submit. I can post paper copies to you if needed.
Go on - do it now please!
We say goodbye to Jenny and Will this week. They have been fantastic to work with over the years and have been so dedicated to the musicians at Simon Balle. Off to pastures new, we all wish them well. Good luck to both of you!
Finally, thank you for all your hard work this year. We have achieved so much, and continued to develop as a department, working tirelessly for all our musicians. Think of the exam results, concerts, recordings, fantastic lessons, the laughter, the tears, the musicians we have inspired. In a year when music has once again been squeezed in education, we have survived. I hope the A level and GCSE exam results reflect the work that has been put in by everyone in our great team. New beginnings in September, new ideas, new energy. Everyone will be part of this!
Enjoy the summer.
