Three main things to pass on.
- Year 10 work experience. The week before half term. Assume that all are out for the week and please plan accordingly. This may be a great opportunity to get ahead with Year 11, 12 and 13. If there are any changes, ensure the students know and Sue has emailed home please. The Friday of this week (day before half term) is an inset day.
- New printing solution. Many of you will have seen Paul and myself wrestling with the new copier. It is now at the bottom of the stairs and will be the only copier we have. The copier is operated by swipe card and students will soon have their own. This week, please see Sue and she will issue you with your card and show you how to use it! The card fits behind your ID badge in the clip, so please put there. The old copiers will be removed later this week I believe. Your laptop also needs to be with Paul for a short while so he can install the driver - this is not a long process. The aim of this all is to save money around the school - all individual printers are being removed. Whilst we have been printing to a copier for years, we are only allowed one machine! We will see how things work with the new copier, and some habits may have to change! I will try to ensure that big print jobs are done during quiet times and it may be that a sheet of music cannot be copied at that moment. Students will also be printing to it from the classroom macs, but the amount they do is fairly minimal.
- I am now chasing GCSE and A level musicians regarding recitals and recordings. Where there are individual situations, I am emailing those concerned. Thanks for your help with them. I am finding how that the short, sharp "get this done by next week, work every day and then it is done" approach is really working. Short, hard hitting targets.
Have a great week!
