Music Notes Sunday 2nd April 2011

Well, we are nearly there. A very long term, but with so much achieved. A massive thank you to everyone for what has happened this term - a fantastic team effort. With so much uncertainty, it is credit to everyone that we have still done what we have done - exam coursework, exams, concerts, rehearsals, recordings, mentoring, support, chasing, shouting, liaising. The list goes on.

In amongst it all, the school email has finally changed. We are now using google, accessed through a company 'Smart Assess'. Emails are now logged onto through the website, and has not been without it's glitches.

See this short film I have slung together to explain how to log on. Steven Spielberg watch out.....

At present, all mail is sitting in this inbox and not being forwarded. You should have received an email to your home email asking you to click on a link to verify the forwarding. Please click on the link, or forward the email to me. This will then enable forwarding to be set up. I am trying to work out how to prevent you receiving the 1 million pointless school emails that are sent every day. The set up will enable you to see the school and music calendar, as well as share information and make the collective use of technology much easier. More to follow in future weeks as we gradually get to know it.

Do try to spend a few moments at some point having a look and getting to know it, as it will increase in importance.

This week, we have AB exams. Last week, the Musical Theatre exams seemed to go well. Friday as we all know is a 'training day', but instrumental lessons are continuing, as well as the exams. This week for some of it some of Year 10 are on a geography trip. Details were sent by Sue a few weeks ago.

I am aware that there will be a large number of exams next term as well. As next half term is short, please can you complete the forms below (or on the intranet - the same form, doesn't  matter which) to let us know how many candidates we will have. I am trying to avoid all the entries becoming messy, so adding the names by the end of the week will really help. I will ensure that letters are available from tomorrow, as Monday students will not now be seen until mid May.

Do have a good rest over the holidays. The next half term is a bit funny, with all the bank holidays. However, that is in the future. Before that, as break. Wow!

Mark.
