It has been a very busy few days once again. Last night the Music Department were involved in two different events. The PSA Auction of Promises, featuring Take Note and some of the Musical Theatre students was a great success, and the singing certainly helped with the atmosphere. A great deal of money was also raised for the department. Thanks here to Debbie, Luke (accompanist) and all the singers. I am told that £500 was raised. The Big Band were also out earning money at the Civic Dinner of the Ware Mayor. Again, a triumph of an evening with a very grateful audience who mostly danced. Thanks here to Paul and Richard who worked tirelessly all day, and to Terry and Clare for playing. What a weekend.
This comes on the back of some great Trinity results on Friday. Congratulations to all who entered students and thanks for the hard work to support the students. Full details will be available on Monday.
Monday also sees the Musical Theatre exams. I am delighted with how the students have progressed in recent months, and they proved their worth during performances to parents last week. We also have AB exams coming up, and we continue to chase students for their GCSE coursework. And chase again. And again. Year 11 should be collecting or bringing copies of the sheet music for solo and ensemble this week - please help them remember!
Email was supposed to have changed this weekend, but at the time of writing it does not seem to have happened. It will, and I will email everyone with full details when it happens. I have asked Sue and Paul to set them up, forwarding to your main email address. Details will come in a blog post like this, so you can see fully what to do.
I now have to start looking towards next year, funding and a budget. Some have already commented about suggestions for next year and I am working to try to maintain much of what we already have. Some things will change, as education and the pressure of work that has been seen this year on students changes and develops. I have to work with a smaller budget, but I am trying to manage the impact, especially as we may not really be able to raise tuition costs. Anyway, more to come on this.
Here's to a good week, and once again thank you to everyone for all the hard work that is put in, day after day.
